A clip of a youth football coach hitting his player has been making rounds on the Internet. The clip reached Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and, as expected, he wasn't too pleased with what he just watched.

Via his Instagram Stories, James re-posted the clip and delivered a strong message.

It's understandable for LeBron James–and any other parent for that matter–to react that way. After all, his sons are engaged in sports and are part of their school's team. Kids do learn about the ups and downs of life through sports. As such, it's the coach's job to guide them throughout, not punish them for their mistakes.

Foe what it's worth, the Lakers star himself has been spotted numerous times in the past watching his sons' games. He's not reluctant to pull his sons to the side to give them advice.

James has been part of various youth teams as well. In fact, the Lakers leader has acknowledged how helpful his coaches were in his upbringing both as a basketball player and a person.

Reports reveal that the man is the coach of the Savannah Gators. He has since apologized for hitting the 9-year-old kid, but it hasn't prevented people from criticizing his behavior. People are not too convinced of his apology.

It would be interesting to see if James does something to make sure the incident doesn't happen again. After all, the Lakers forward is known to be very active and outspoken when it comes to social causes. Apart from his success in the hardcourt, he has become known for his advocacies for education, his stance against racism, police brutality and a whole lot more.
