In the Los Angeles Lakers win over the Washington Wizards, LeBron James posted video-game numbers: 50 points, seven rebounds and six assists. With his second 50-point performance in the last week, he is now the NBA's leading scorer.

James is playing on an unprecedented level right now, which is just what the Lakers need. Although they will most likely need to make it through the play-in tournament to make the playoffs, James has been unbeatable when he gets going as he did against the Wizards.

After the Lakers win, James likened his mentality when he's in the zone to the “He's on fire!” catchphrase from NBA Jam. He revealed the three teams he used in NBA Jam: the Seattle Supersonics with Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp, the “Triple J Ranch” Dallas Mavericks and the “Run TMC” Golden State Warriors.

All three of those teams are fantastic options. The Supersonics, in particular, offer tons of fun with Kemp and his unbelievable dunk repertoire. Using the Warriors with Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin to maximize shooting is a great strategy as well. The Lakers' star has certainly taken a page out of the famous video game by heating up often.

Los Angeles' road to the playoffs has been (and will be) very rocky, even with James. The team has no problems winning when he goes off but it remains to be seen how many more games like these he has to offer. With his ability to do the unthinkable, it may not be so surprising to see him post even more amazing games to get the Lakers in the playoff picture.
