The Los Angeles Lakers will be without LeBron James for Thursday night's game vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers updated James' status to OUT for the OKC game on Thursday morning. However, he won't miss the affair due to the ankle soreness that caused him to miss two games last week — including the Lakers' loss in Oklahoma City — and has resulted in being listed as “questionable” and “game-time decisions” for each game since (he's looked great, physically).

Instead, LeBron will miss the clash with the Thunder at Staples Center due to what the Lakers are calling a “rectus abdominis strain.” The rectus abdominis is located in the upper ab region.

It's unclear when LeBron suffered the strain. However, in Tuesday's win over the Rockets, James did check out of the game in the 4th quarter do stretch in the tunnel. He didn't seem hampered upon checking back in.

The team has not provided a timeline for LeBron's recovery. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel will address the media at 5:45 p.m. PT for his usual pre-game availability.

In other injury news, the Lakers listed Dwight Howard and Wayne Ellington as probable. Howard missed the past two games with neck stiffness/soreness.

Ellington has not played this season due to a Grade 1 hamstring strain he suffered towards the end of preseason, but he has been active and dressing the past few games. Vogel said he wanted Ellington to get in a few full practices with the team before putting him in the game.

Anthony Davis is also listed as probable, as he has been for the past few games. Davis came down awkwardly on his ankle on Tuesday, but quickly shut down any inquiries about the injury in his post-game remarks.

LeBron is averaging 24.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists for the 5-3 Lakers.
