With the 2017-18 NBA season underway, the Los Angeles Lakers are currently 1-2 after facing the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, and New Orleans Pelicans. As they prepare for the Washington Wizards, the front office has made some important decisions.

According to Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, they have exercised their team options on Brandon Ingram and Larry Nance Jr. for the 2018-19 season:

The Los Angeles Lakers have exercised their team options for the 2018-19 season on Brandon Ingram and Larry Nance Jr., it was announced today by General Manager Rob Pelinka.

This is not surprising news as Ingram and Nance Jr. are not only part of the team's young core, but future. President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson and Pelinka have spoken very highly of the two players since they joined the storied franchise earlier this year. Johnson also revealed he received numerous trade calls for both of them during his first offseason.

As Ingram is looking to establish himself as the team's first option, Nance Jr. has been an extremely consistent and fundamentally sound player. With both players starting for head coach Luke Walton, they will look to take the next step in their development and get the Lakers one step closer to contention.
