The game between the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans turned out to be a hotly-contested one early on as Isaiah Thomas and Rajon Rondo were both ejected after figuring in a shoving match. However, the action wasn't only on the floor, as Luke Walton also got heated on the sidelines.

The second-year head coach was also tossed out by the referees for continuous complaining as he had some choice words towards the officials. Walton did not agree that Kyle Kuzma deserved to receive a technical foul for how he reacted to a foul called against him in the previous play, leading to Walton having something to say to the game officials.

While the ejection was handed out quickly, one can only imagine what the exact words of Walton were that made the referee decide on it immediately. It could contain some expletives or even personal comments which are definitely not tolerated by the NBA. The league office has been consistent in backing up their game officials and has protected them throughout the years.

Brian Shaw has taken over the coaching duties for the Lakers for the remainder of the game. The emotions that Walton showed only goes to show how important the game is for them as they are looking to win their fifth contest in the last six outings, trying to improve their record before the All-Star break.

Despite only having a 23-32 win-loss slate to show, the Lakers still have a fighting chance to make it to the playoffs if they'll be able to consistently string wins together.
