Michael Beasley of the Los Angeles Lakers poured out his thoughts with regard to his critics and doubters. Free agent guard Nick Young, who received a special mention from Beasley, reacted to the comments.

The former Warriors and Lakers guard backed up Beasley's comments in a two word tweet.

Eyebrows were immediately raised when the Lakers acquired Beasley just a few days ago. Drafted second overall back in 2008, Beasley hasn't lived up to the hype after years in the NBA. Many say he's a bust. Some, however, including NBA players, say that Beasley just has to be given the right opportunity.

The other players that Beasley mentioned have received a fair amount of criticism for their attitude on and off the court. Beasley defended him, perhaps fed up with the hate showered upon them. Last season with the New York Knicks, the 29-year-old logged in 13.2 points per game, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. In 74 games, 30 of which were starts, Beasley showed hints of his potential — showcasing advanced post-moves and hitting difficult jump shots along the way.

Recently, the Lakers and Beasley made it official by inking the contract. Per NBA.com, Beasley said:

“You have 14 guys other than LeBron James who know how to play basketball,” Beasley said. “And I think you have 29 teams overlooking the fact that they know how to play basketball.”

“I just play,” Beasley said. “I wouldn’t say I’m headstrong or doing any one thing in particular. A lot of people would say that’s scoring, but I just play. Look for the open guy, run the floor, just try to have fun, let the game manifest itself.”
