Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka hopes the rest of the Lakers' season goes like the New England Patriots' Super-Bowl winning campaign.

The Lakers weren't able to trade for New Orleans Pelicans superstar big man Anthony Davis, so they had to settle for shooting guard Reggie Bullock and stretch forward Mike Muscala.

The Patriots, who just won the Super Bowl, are known for having no-name players come out of nowhere and make a big impact in the postseason. Wide receiver Julian Edelman has turned into a star in New England, and Pelinka is hoping Bullock and Muscala can have a similar impact:

After defeating the Boston Celtics on Thursday on a Rajon Rondo game-winner at the buzzer, the Lakers are now 28-27 on the season, 10th place in the Western Conference standings. If they want to win the championship like the Patriots, Los Angeles has a very long ways to go.

Bullock and Muscala will provide perimeter shooting for LA, which is something they desperately needed. Bullock is averaging 12.1 points per game this season while shooting 38.8 percent from the 3-point line. Muscala, meanwhile, is putting up 7.4 points and shooting 34.2 percent from beyond the arc.

The Lakers face the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Bullock and Muscala are expected to play for LA.
