LeBron James and Russell Westbrook were both in attendance on Friday when the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. As it turns out, however, the superstar teammates weren't seen talking to each other throughout the game, which understandably caused quite a ruckus among fans.

LeBron and Westbrook were seen sitting on opposite sides of the arena, and there wasn't even an acknowledgment between them throughout the contest — at least publicly. Kyle Goon of The Orange County Register reports that the likes of his former teammates, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham, and Rob Pelinka all approached LeBron James during the event. The same was the case for his Lakers teammates, including a couple of LA's new signings in Juan Toscano-Anderson and Thomas Bryant.

There was one notable exception among the visitors: Russell Westbrook, who sat in the opposite corner of Thomas & Mack Center next to the summer league players, stayed on the far side of James. The two superstar teammates – who as of now are scheduled to play together again come October – made no public acknowledgment of one another before Westbrook left the exhibition at halftime.

Westbrook was involved in the team huddles, but never trekked across the gym – and neither did James, who arrived and left from a different entrance on the opposite side of the arena.

It's hard to imagine that both men had no clue about each other's presence during the game. Rumors of a Russell Westbrook trade away from the Lakers have been picking up steam of late, and this rather untoward development could serve as a hint as to the type of relationship these two superstars have at the moment.
