The Los Angeles Lakers with the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft selected former UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball.

Los Angeles has finally officially signed Ball to his lucrative rookie contract on Monday afternoon, according to ESPN.

Beyond just having the 19-year-old under contract, it allows for him to play on the Lakers' Summer League team later this week when it begins on July 7 and goes through July 17. Their roster will also feature their two other first-round draft picks in guard Josh Hart and forward Kyle Kuzma along with second-round pick center Thomas Bryant.

Other notable players on the roster are second players in forward Brandon Ingram, center Ivica Zubac, and guard David Nwaba. Los Angeles is set to participate in at least five games during the Summer League that will take place in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center beginning on Friday night.

These games are expected to draw a high volume of fans wanting to see Ball finally take the floor in a Lakers' uniform with all the hype surrounding him. He has the opportunity to make a huge impact in his first season in a significant role with the team as the starting point guard orchestrating the offense.
