The Lonzo Ball era could be coming to an end in Tinseltown earlier before it even starts as his name is now being thrown around in trade rumors this summer involving the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James.

There is no doubt that the Lakers are trying to build the next superteam this summer and to do so, it might mean moving Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers to get James to Southern California.

There are a couple of options that James has this summer, and he needs to make a decision pretty soon. He can opt into his contract and decide to stay with the Cavs for the next year. He could decide to opt out and become a free agent, which is what most expect him to do. The third option which is a wild card is he could opt into his contract, but force the Cavs to trade him to, say, the Lakers.

If he was to opt-in and ask for a trade, it would make more sense to go to a team that is strapped in salary cap and that is the only way that he could get there.

The Lakers have a lot of cap space, so giving up Ball for James would seem like an odd move, especially if they were also going to try and pursue Kawhi Leonard.

There is a chance they could trade for both James and Leonard this offseason, but doing so would force them to give up a ton of young talent that they probably won't be willing to part with.
