Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James put on a show against the Houston Rockets on Saturday night. The King dropped 31 points on 13-of-25 shooting, to go along with five rebounds, 12 assists and two steals to help the Purple and Gold secure a 124-115 road win over a fellow elite Western Conference team.

LeBron's performance prompted Lakers fans at the Toyota Center to chant “MVP” toward the 35-year old forward. While the act is no longer new for James, hearing a visiting player get such chants is certainly a blow to former MVP James Harden and the Rockets.

Lakers fans are one of the most loyal fan bases in the entire league. And they made their presence known in Houston by showing some love to The King.

Asked post-game about the MVP chants, James said that it's humbling to continue playing the game he loves at a high level and with a historic team like the Lakers at that.

It's definitely amazing to see a living legend like LeBron still treating fans to greatness on a nightly basis.

This 31-point, 12-assist double-double may just seem like a normal day in the office for LBJ. But taking a step back and realizing that he is doing this at the age of 35 and in his 17th NBA season should make fans appreciate him while he is still playing.

Prior to Saturday's contest, the future Hall of Famer is putting up nightly averages of 25.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and a career-best 10.9 assists, all while still playing nearly 35 minutes a night with no load management program in sight. LeBron James definitely looks motivated and inspired to lead his team to the promised land and win his fourth NBA championship this June.
