Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball delivered a huge block on Washington Wizards star John Wall during Sunday night's showdown between the two teams.

John Wall found himself looking for a layup on a fast break attempt in the second quarter, but Lonzo Ball had other ideas.

The former UCLA star came over to challenge Wall's shot, and sure enough, he came through with a monster block that sent the ball soaring out of bounds.

It was a much-needed defensive play for the Lakers, who found themselves struggling in a big way in the second quarter before the Wizards racked up a 20-point lead at halftime.

And things haven't gotten much better midway through the third quarter, as Washington has extended its lead to 24 points. However, at least Ball was able to create another highlight reel play in what's been a nice stretch of quality basketball (this game aside) for Luke Walton's team.

The Lakers have really been able to turn things around since starting 4-6 on the season, and Ball's triple-double against the Charlotte Hornets should give him plenty of confidence going forward.

Los Angeles will have one more road game on this four-game stretch, as the Lakers will take on the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night before returning back to Staples Center for back-to-back games against the New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies.

After that set of games, Ball and Co. will hit the road once again for the highly anticipated showdown with the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day.
