ClutchPoints Gaming had the chance to sit with Team Heretics top laner Martin “Wunder” Hansen right before the LEC Winter Season 2024 started. Check out his insights here.

Team Heretics Wunder: Reunion, Change, and Faith

Wunder gave his thoughts about reuniting with former teammates Luka “Perkz” Perković and Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, the League of Legends Season 2024 changes, and the players he's looking forward to facing. He capped this off with a message to fans and LEC viewers in general.

Team Heretics is currently 2-1 after the first week of LEC Winter 2024 Season, losing to MAD Lions KOI in their debut match but bringing it back with wins against Rogue and GIANTX.

Q: Thoughts on “G3 Esports” and reuniting with Perkz and Jankos?

Wunder: It's nice to reunite with players you played with before… It's been a long time since I played with both of them and a lot of things have changed since then. But at least I know them well enough as people to kind of know what to expect.

Of course, everyone grows and changes throughout the years, but we've all been at the top and that's also the plan with this team – we all believe that we have what it takes to get back there again.

Q: What do you think about the Season 2024 changes and the in-houses before the start of LEC Season?

Wunder: Solo queue [wasn't] an option because they [hadn't] patched it. We obviously have the bootcamp and scrim games on the new champ, so it's not like a must to play in the in-houses, but it [was] for sure something that will be beneficial.

For toplane, it's a lot easier to ward to be safe for most ganks. They removed a wall that you can usually get ganked from behind before. The lane feels a lot bigger so you can spot people faster. Then there's the voidgrubs – those are the biggest changes for top. We can fight around these things more frequently. Before, it was 8 minutes for the Rift Herald but now there are two spawns of [voidgrubs] before Rift Herald spawns. Depending on how they choose to balance that, it'll be either like before where you don't interact that much with top or it will be a lot of playing around these [spawn timers.]

Q: Which player are you looking forward to seeing in the LEC?

Wunder: It's going to be fun to see returning players like Cabochard, because he hasn't been in the LEC for a while and he, together with Karmine Corp, is pretty high up in the French scene.

I'm excited to play anyone, really.

Q: Message to your fans?

Wunder: There's a lot of polarizing opinions about how we are going to do on this new team. A lot of people think we're either washed or think that because we're back together we're going to be back to the old days as the top three team.

I have a lot of faith and confidence in myself and my team. Regardless of which camp you are in, I hope you guys will watch our games and… hate on us or enjoy and cheer – anything really. It helps kind of build the game up so… I just hope everyone will stay tuned when we play.
