There haven't been too many positives to take away from the Detroit Lions in 2021, but the emergence of Amon-Ra St. Brown should have the fanbase feeling optimistic about the future. The rookie wideout is enjoying a tremendous season and managed to etch his name in Lions history on Sunday. Per Dave Birkett, St. Brown became the Lions' all-time leader in receiving yards as a rookie, having overtaken the record previously held by Roy Williams.

St. Brown overtook Williams' record in the first half on Sunday, and while it took him 17 games to best Williams' rookie record of 817 receiving yards, he's still managed to claim his spot in Detroit's lore. St. Brown now finds his rookie season measuring up against the likes of Williams and Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson, who recorded 756 yards during his rookie campaign.

The Lions rookie has been nothing short of sensational in 2021, truly finding his form during the latter half of the season. From Week 13-17, St. Brown was targeted a total of 57 times, hauling in 43 receptions for 451 yards and four touchdowns during that span. He also rushed six times for 49 yards and a touchdown in that timeframe.

The former USC product is arguably the hottest receiver in football as the regular season winds down, and all signs indicate the Lions have found themselves a superstar in the making. With an early first-round draft pick on the horizon, the Lions will have the chance to further strengthen the offense, knowing that they have a franchise cornerstone in the form of St. Brown already at their disposal.
