Trey Flowers was penalized twice for illegal use of hands during Monday night's game against the Green Bay Packers. The Detroit Lions defensive end reacted to the two errant penalty calls after the game versus the Packers.

Both of the penalty calls on Flowers came in the second half of Monday night's NFC North clash. But the second one came at a crucial moment in the game. When the penalty occurred, everyone in the world knew the game was decided on that infraction.

While Aaron Rodgers was driving the Packers down the field, the referees threw a flag on the Lions pass rusher as he put his hands on David Bahktiari's shoulder/chest area—not the face. It was a questionable call made by the officials and it wasn't the first controversial call they made in the game.

Unfortunately, the last penalty came on a third-down play that would've forced Green Bay to attempt a field goal with a little less than two minutes remaining. Therefore, the ball should've been given back to Matthew Stafford to attempt a game-winning drive for the Lions.

Instead, Flowers' suspicious illegal use of hands call rewarded the Packers with a free first down. Thus, allowing Green Bay to kneel the ball a couple of times to run the rest of the clock out until Mason Crosby made the last-second field goal.

A decision by the referees to make a call like that could change the outlook of Detroit's season entirely. Now, the Packers improve to a 5-1 record while the Lions fall to 2-2-1 on the season. And yet again, the officials in this game won't have to answer for their mistakes.
