Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is not the only high-profile star to lead the workout in the past few days. It appears Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has organized some workouts of his own, as the Lions tweeted out a video of Stafford drilling with teammates on Thursday.

The NFLPA and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Allen Sills have recommended players avoid working out and try to remain as isolated as possible, given the recent spike in cases of COVID-19.

But it seems players around the league are willing to take on a bit of risk. After all, teams did miss out on OTAs and have instead had to resort to virtual offseason programs.

Stafford's 2019 got off to a good start. He threw for nearly 2,500 yards and 19 touchdowns through his first eight games, dragging an underwhelming Lions team to a 3-4-1 start. But Stafford was forced out due to a back injury, and he was eventually placed on injured reserve in December. Detroit went on to lose each of its next eight games.

The Lions will hope Stafford can remain healthy in 2020. Otherwise, it could be another long and frustrating year in Detroit.
