The New England Patriots have been rolling ever since their rough 2-4 start, winning their last five games—most recently featuring a dominant 25-0 win against the middling Atlanta Falcons. Currently sitting at a 7-4 record, the Patriots' offense has been running as efficiently and effectively as ever, and rookie quarterback Mac Jones attributed the Patriots; offensive success to one simple factor: scoring more points.

In an interview after their emphatic win over the Falcons, Jones enlightened the media on the secret of New England offense when he said “the goal is to score one more point than the other team.” As Josh Alper of NBC Sports stated:

“They [New England] beat the Falcons 25-0 and have outscored their opponents 175-50 over the course of their current five-game winning streak. That margin would have been smaller without some garbage time points on Thursday night.”

Jones himself has been phenomenal for the Patriots, as he recorded 207 pass yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the Falcons, while throwing an impressive 22-of-26 passes. The rookie's performance was surely enough to meet his own standards of scoring one more point than the other team, as he led the Patriots to scoring 25 more points than the struggling Falcons.

Next up for the crew from New England are the 8-2 Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Whether or not Mac Jones will be able to translate his extremely straightforward offensive secrets against the Titans remains to be seen.
