The Memphis Grizzlies got a huge scare last Saturday when they saw their team's starting center, Marc Gasol, leave the game with what appeared to be an ankle injury. The two-time All-Star did not return to the game which got them even more worried.

The good news is he's fine and will not miss an extended period of time. He is still on track to play in the Grizzlies' season opener after missing 30 games last year.

When asked about what happened during the incident, Gasol made it clear that he was not forced to leave the game. Per ESPN's Calvin Watkins:

“I didn't have to leave the game. I got subbed out. Then just used (the time on the bench) to get some ice and remove my ankle tape. That was all.”

Gasol even went to Twitter to relieve his fans from all the anxiety caused by seeing him hurt.

Last year, the team got hit by numerous injuries on their key players leading to an early playoff exit. But now that they are healthier, plus the addition of key players to their lineup, Gasol and company are looking to make noise in the Western Conference once again.
