Dallas Mavericks power forward Kristaps Porzingis is confident his jump shot will start to fall soon as the Mavs inch closer to the start of the regular season.

In three preseason games with the Mavs, Porzingis is shooting 34.6 percent from the field and 28.0 percent from beyond the arc.

The 7-footer, who missed all of last season recovering from his ACL tear, doesn't seem to be worried.

“My teammates are trusting me and passing me the ball,” Porzingis said, via Dwain Price of Mavs.com. “Whenever I’m open, I’m shooting the ball, and the shots will start to fall. I have no doubts. I’m impatient with those kinds of things.

“I want to make every shot I take and I believe I can make every shot I take. Now, put in the work and in practice make shots, focus, high quality everything and sooner or later I’ll start making those wide open looks and then we will be playing even better.”

The Mavs gave Porzingis a five-year, $158.3 million deal this summer. KP averaged 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks with the New York Knicks during the 2017-18 season before he tore his ACL while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from the 3-point line.

Porzingis has career averages of 17.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
