The Dallas Mavericks are heading to the offseason looking to upgrade their roster to build a championship contender, and sure enough, Luka Doncic will play a big role in their free agency plans.

Speaking to reporters during the Mavs' exit interviews on Friday, Doncic revealed that he'll be heavily involved in the team's roster decisions alongside head coach Jason Kidd, general manager Nico Harrison and team vice president Michael Finley.

“I’m involved. Two-way conversations with me, Nico, Fin and J,” Doncic shared, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

Luka Doncic has certainly proven he can transform the Mavs into a winning team, but it has been made clear to him that he can't do it alone. As Dallas looks to improve the team, however, the fit alongside the Slovenian and the rest of the team will be crucial.

The Mavs have been linked to Zach LaVine already, and while the Texas-based franchise has not enough salary cap to sign him in free agency, a trade could be in the works if they decided to chase for him.

Mark Cuban and co. have to decide about Jalen Brunson's future as well, although Doncic himself said that the guard deserves all the money he gets in his free agency.

It will definitely be a huge summer for the Mavs in their attempt to build a title contender that will last years. The first step, of course, is making the right decisions.
