Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic has a future Hall of Fame teammate in Dirk Nowitzki and a future Hall of Famer’s signed jersey in Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant's. It’s fun to be the Mavs guard these days.

The Slovenian hotshot, who was selected third overall by the Atlanta Hawks in June’s NBA Draft before being sent to Dallas for Trae Young, recently posted an image of a Kobe Bryant-signed No. 24 Los Angeles Lakers jersey on his Instagram story.

Speaking of Young, he’s beaten Doncic by a few months in getting an autographed Black Mamba thread, as the Hawks rookie already copped his own back in April.

Kobe Bryant has been round and about lately, spitting worldly tips for young athletes of late. He recently made a visit to Tuscaloosa to speak in front of the defending national football champions Alabama Crimson Tide.

We’re not sure whether Bryant also gave Doncic some advice on how to tackle his first season in the league, but there’s always Nowitzki to guide the European phenom.

A lot is expected of Luka Doncic, with the Mavs hoping he’ll form a young and combustible backcourt tandem with fellow first-round pick Dennis Smith Jr.

Before hitting the shores of the NBA, Doncic was already an accomplished player across the pond having won a EuroLeague title and EuroLeague MVP honors.
