The 2021 NBA Finals is not yet over, but there are already odds for potential MVPs for the 2021-22 season. Interestingly and unsurprisingly, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is the favorite to bag the highest individual award next campaign.

According to Draft Kings Sportsbook, the Mavs star leads the early MVP odds at +400, with Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid coming in at +700. Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stephen Curry are on equal footing as of time of writing at +800 (h/t Ethan Fuller of Basketball News).

Reigning NBA MVP and Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, surprisingly, is at only +1500 to repeat.

Luka Doncic was actually one of the favorites to win the MVP award in 2020-21, unfortunately, the Mavs' poor record to start the season affected his chances. He finished just outside the Top 5 in MVP voting at no. 6. Joel Embiid, for his part, ended up second behind The Joker.

While it may be difficult for Luka to win MVP given the all-around talent in the NBA, it is not an impossible feat. Besides, he will likely be in that conversation for years to come considering how he has played in his first three years in the league. After winning Rookie of the Year in 201-19, he has already made two All-Star teams–a testament to his dominance and just sheer talent.

Should the Mavs post a better record next campaign, it's hard not to see Luka winning MVP.
