Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told 96.7 The Ticket he expects to lose more than $100 million before the NBA gets back to normal.

It's still unknown if the Mavs will have fans in their arena when the NBA starts in a couple of weeks, but with the expected limited capacity and the threat of COVID-19 very much alive, Cuban is set to lose a lot of money.

However, Cuban confirmed he's still going to pay his employees.

Mark Cuban deciding to pay his employees despite losing a lot of money just shows what a great person he is. The Mavs are fortunate to be owned by such a caring human being.

The 2020-21 season will start on Dec. 22. The Mavs will open their preseason schedule on Dec. 12 against the Milwaukee Bucks. Luka Doncic and Co. will face Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns on opening night on Dec. 23.

Dallas will then take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day at Staples Center.

The Mavs lost to the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2020 playoffs at Walt Disney World in the NBA bubble in six games. The team will begin the 2020-21 season without power forward Kristaps Porzingis, who is recovering from knee surgery.

Dallas general manager Donnie Nelson acquired Josh Richardson from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Seth Curry and traded for James Johnson from the Oklahoma City Thunder. As was the case last season, the Mavs will ultimately go as far as Doncic and Porzingis can lead them.
