In what could be Dirk Nowitzki's final season in the NBA, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has issued a statement regarding the future Hall of Famer's potential final home game with the Mavs on April 9th.

Cuban admitted that he is not thinking about it at all, saying the thought that this could be Dirk's final year is heartbreaking.

Mark Cuban added that the 9th of April will be special, although he did not divulge any information regarding the team's plans for Nowitzki's potential final home game.

Dirk Nowitzki is believed to be retiring after this season, although the 7-foot German himself stated on multiple occasions that he has no decision yet if he'll be back next year. He's already been given video tributes by a lot of teams and was even named as special All-Star additions in this year's All-Star Game.

Dirk hasn't made up his mind yet, although people around him feels that this is his final season.

Considered by many as the greatest international player of all time, Nowitzki spent his entire 21-year career with the Mavs. In his two plus decades in the league, he's averaged 20.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. He also surpassed Wilt Chamberlain and is now sixth on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

Clearly, the Mavs won't be the same without Nowitzki, but the team is in good hands. Luka Doncic is ready to take over as the franchise's cornerstone while newly acquired Kristaps Porzingis will help write the new chapter for the franchise who aims to become a contender in the near future.
