When you are a guy who is as competitive as Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle, you would hate it if the game you were playing was suddenly ordered to stop by the NBA. This is why it's understandable that he went on a bit of an NSFW spree to get his competitive edge out.

Tim MacMahon recorded Carlisle's reaction to the suspension, and he didn't mince words about his thoughts. He showed that the coronavirus was the last thing on his mind at the moment.

“My thoughts were we need to win this f—ing game.”

It's a classic testament to Carlisle's competitive fire that all he was zeroing in on was how to win a very important game that would further secure their spot in the playoffs. The Denver Nuggets are currently third in the Western Conference, so winning against them is on the top of Carlisle's priority list.

Since the two teams have started playing before the announcement was made, they were allowed to finish their game. Fans who made the trip to the American Airlines Center were definitely given a treat by the Mavs.

They dominated the Nuggets, 113-97, but the biggest star of the game was neither Luka Doncic or Kristaps Porzingis. Instead, Boban Marjanovic stepped up to the plate.

The John Wick:Chapter III — Parabellum star was the brightest star in what would be the Mavericks' final game in a while. He finished with an incredible 31 points, 17 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 blocks. Luka Doncic also put in a solid night's work with 28 points, 6 assists, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Here's another look at Carlisle's rant as well as a look at how Mavs players and fans celebrated Boban's big night:

It may take more than a month before the league resumes its season, but the Mavs can do nothing but wait. After all, it's more important that they kept themselves safe than run the risk of infection from the disease.
