Head coaches are known to bring out the best from their players, and find a way to always get the advantage for their teams. Rick Carlisle is just like that, and he made sure he sent a message to Robin Lopez before the Dallas Mavericks faced the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, to let him know one of his players will not take it easy on him on the night.

The 57-year-old shared, via Tim MacMahon of ESPN, what he hilariously told Lopez when their paths crossed. He apparently told him that Dirk Nowitzki will give him a run for his money, and will make sure the Mavericks will go out on top.

Nowitzki certainly made sure he made his head coach look good as he had a solid game, finishing with eight points on 50 percent shooting to go along with nine rebounds and three assists. Although Lopez scored more points with 12 in the game, he only had one rebound and one assist in 21 minutes of action.

More importantly, the Mavs won in convincing fashion as they blew out the Bulls, 118-79, making it the biggest margin of victory so far in the preseason. Carlisle's team will be back in action on Thursday as they face the Orlando Magic, and it will be interesting if he'll also hilariously trash-talk one of their players, just like he did to Lopez.
