Sports Illustrated published a report on Wednesday claiming that a Dallas Mavericks executive sexually assaulted a woman. The Mavs organization responded by saying they were appalled by the allegations.

Now, Sports Illustrated is releasing its own statement on the matter.

Tony Ronzone, the Mavs’ director of player personnel, was alleged as the abuser of a woman whom he worked with. This is the second time in the last few years Dallas has been hit with sexual assault allegations.

Two years ago, the Mavs had to bite the bullet for sexual assault allegations in their corporate offices, which resulted in owner Mark Cuban making a hefty donation to sexual assault organizations to warrant NBA and public pardon.

The timing of this report comes on the heels of the Mavs resuming its season down in Orlando, Florida. Dallas has virtually clinched a spot in the 2020 playoffs.

Led by All-Stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, the Mavs are trying to win their first playoff series since the 2011 championship over LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat.

For the eight seeding games, the Mavs will face the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers. Dallas and Phoenix will play each other twice.
