The Dallas Mavericks have $5 million in cap space remaining and it's expected that they will use this remaining space to sign longtime Maverick, Dirk Nowitzki per Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania. Earlier during the offseason, Nowitzki declined his $5 million team option so Dallas could have more salary cap flexibility.

The future Hall of Famer has spent his entire career in Dallas and he will be playing his 21st season in 2018-19. The Tall Baller from the G is a 13-time All-Star, but he is far from the player he was just a few years ago. Although he's not the same player that led the Mavericks to an NBA championship in 2011, he's still a productive player.

Nowitzki averaged 12 points per game last season and shot the ball extremely well from deep. His three-point percentage was just over 40 percent.

The veteran will bring stability to an otherwise young Mavericks team. He could play the role of mentor for some of the younger players in Dallas — including fellow European, Luka Doncic.

Dirk's commitment and loyalty to Dallas is something that is not the standard around the NBA. When his career finally ends, whenever that may be, he'll go down as the greatest player in the history of the organization. He was the catalyst behind the Mavericks' lone NBA championship. His 27.7 points per game during that playoff run was a crucial element of the Mavericks' upset of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and the Miami Heat.

Nowitzki has been a staple in Dallas for over 20 years and the German isn't going anywhere yet.
