The MLB-All-Star Game fan vote is one that draws the ire of nearly every fan and pundit each year. 2022 was no different. The likes of San Francisco Giants ace Carlos Rodon and Boston Red Sox slugger J.D. Martinez were somehow left off the roster. However, Rodon, Martinez and Miami Marlins first baseman Garrett Cooper all received some great news on Tuesday. They have each been named to the All-Star roster as replacements, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Rodon, Martinez and Cooper will be replacing the likes of Milwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader, Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez and Philadelphia Phillies 2021 MVP Bryce Harper, respectively.

Rodon, who has pitched to a 2.70 ERA with 124 strikeouts, and Martinez, who has hit .313 with a .880 OPS in 76 games, were obvious MLB All-Star game candidates. Cooper was less so, though the unheralded first baseman is being rewarded for what looks like a career year.

Even with snubs like Rodon and Martinez getting the respect they deserve, there are still others out there who deserved a spot on the roster. Rodon's former Chicago White Sox teammate Dylan Cease was about as egregious a snub as any.

Phillies ace Zack Wheeler, who ranks ninth in the MLB in ERA, somehow didn't make the MLB All-Star game roster. Still, it's the nature of the voting process that there will inevitably be disappointment.

Most fans can agree that at least some form of justice was served with Carlos Rodon and J.D. Martinez being added to the roster on Tuesday.
