The Golden State Warriors defeated the Toronto Raptors in Game 2 of the 2019 NBA Finals, but lost Klay Thompson in the process to a hamstring injury.

Earlier tonight, Stadium's Shams Charania reported that Thompson's MRI results revealed a hamstring strain. His status for Game 3 would be ‘likely' questionable to play.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, however, the Warriors are quietly optimistic that Thompson is able to suit up and play in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

There's optimism among the Warriors that swingman Klay Thompson will play with a hamstring strain in Game 3 on Wednesday, league source tells ESPN.

This is obviously great news for the Warriors and exactly what they need, especially after the loss of Kevon Looney. Thompson could only play 32 minutes before asking to be taken out with the hamstring injury in Game 2. He finished with 25 point, five rebounds, and five assists, leading the Warriors in scoring.

More to come…
