The NBA has returned the latest results from the second round of coronavirus testing league-wide. Nine NBA players have tested positive for the novel coronavirus out of the 344 players tested between June 24-29, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

A total of 25 players tested positive since testing began on June 23 when 16 of 302 players tested positive — an effective rate of 5.3%. That number has now been halved, as only 2.6% of players have tested positive for COVID-19 out of the 344 tested.

When taken into account the two rounds of testing, there have been 25 combined positive tests were out of a total of 351 players (7.1% tested positive) since June 23. A total of 10 out of 884 team staffers tested positive from June 23-29 — a microscopic 1.1%.

Any player, coach, executive, or staff member who tested positive will self-isolate until he/she tests positive twice in a row, per the NBA/NBPA protocol.

There is bound to be one more round of leaguewide testing before teams are asked to travel to Orlando for the resumption of the 2019-20 NBA season. Players will take part on Training Camp 2.0 for three weeks before the season resumes on July 30.
