Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young and Dallas Mavericks guard-forward Luka Doncic have been named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month, respectively, for games played in February.

In 12 games in February, Young was phenomenal. The Hawks' floor general averaged 23.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 9.3 assists while shooting 41.0 percent from the field, 43.7 percent from beyond the arc and 84.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Young recorded six double-doubles in February. Atlanta only went 5-7 during the month, but it's a rebuild season for the franchise and the development of Young is the most important thing. Trae got off to a slow start to the season, but he has been fantastic and consistent for majority of the year.

Meanwhile, Doncic played in eight games in February. The Mavs' new franchise player averaged 24.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists. He shot 44.3 percent from the floor, 36.2 percent from the 3-point line and 69.7 percent from the foul line.

Doncic had two triple-doubles in February. He continues to show he's very mature for his age and has star potential in the league.

Despite Young's stellar play as of late, many believe Doncic is still the front runner to win the 2019 Rookie of the Year award. However, that shouldn't take away from how good Young has been for Atlanta.
