The NBA league office has suspended Dallas Mavericks center Nerlens Noel and Utah Jazz forward Thabo Sefolosha five games each for violation of the league's anti-druf program, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.

This suspension will cost Noel $144,400, according to ESPN Insider Bobby Marks — as he sits out the remainder of the Mavericks five regular season games. Noel was recovering from a thumb injury that kept him out of Rick Carlisle's lineup for most of the season.

He's played in 12 of the team's last 16 games upon his recovery, putting up 10 points in two of those games.

Sefolosha is expected to miss the rest of the season to repair an avulsion of his MCL, but should serve the suspension as soon as the team doctors deem him able to take part in game action, much like it happened with New York Knicks center Joakim Noah.

The Jazz have recently climbed to sixth place in the West and have done incredibly well, even without one of their best defenders in Sefolosha.

It's still unknown what substance either took to warrant the suspension.
