New York Knicks owner James Dolan has recently been receiving a ton of criticism for his unwillingness to stand up and speak out about the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. Retired NBA champ Kendrick Perkins is having none of it, and the 35-year-old blasted the billionaire on a recent appearance on ESPN's The Jump:

Kendrick Perkins started off his statement by taking a shot at Dolan, attacking his character and his apparent lack of social responsibility.

“Nothing surprise me no more when it comes to James ‘Cupcake' Dolan, and if you want to be nice about it and call him ‘James L. Dolan,' make sure the ‘L' stands for lost because he's lost,” said Perkins. “Now he deals the most valuable franchise in the NBA, and had a choice to speak out on civil rights and they dropped the ball again.”

At this point, only the Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs are the two teams that have yet to release an official statement regarding Floyd's death and the ensuing protests. Dolan has taken it a step further by explaining why he refuses to take a stance. Obviously, he only made matters worse.

Perkins went on to explain why he believes the Knicks deserve to be lambasted for their inaction here.

“It's disappointing because the New York Knicks are the weakest link in the NBA,” claimed Perkins. “They don't represent what the NBA is all about. The NBA is not all about basketball. The NBA represents a brotherhood. The NBA represents leadership. And guess what, James Dolan and the New York Knicks lack in both of those categories.”

At this point, we're used to Dolan being the ultimate antagonist in the NBA, but frankly, his recent actions are still surprising. It just seems like he is doing everything in his power to ensure that the whole world sees him as the bad guy.
