If you thought the Brooklyn Nets were already good, well then, think again. News broke out Sunday that the Nets are expected to land another former All-Star in Blake Griffin and, naturally, they've shot up the rankings in terms of the 2021 title odds.

With Griffin expected to join Brooklyn, they now have a 5/2 odds to win it all this season (via Darren Rovell of Action Network HQ). Steve Nash's squad has now overtaken the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers with another half of the season left to play.

Griffin now becomes the newest Nets member following their major acquisition of former MVP James Harden earlier this season. Pairing those two with a former NBA champion in Kyrie Irving and another former MVP in Kevin Durant definitely poses a real problem for their opponents.

The six-time All-Star, whose contract was bought out by the Detroit Pistons earlier this month, is looking like he's in the twilight of his career, at least as of late. Now on his 11th season in the NBA, Griffin's numbers are down and the Blake Griffin of old seems to be a totally different person. His high-flying days back in Lob City where he would average 24 points and nine rebounds feels so long ago. He would also get to reunite with a former Lob City partner in DeAndre Jordan in Brooklyn.

But the thing is, Griffin is just 31 years young and has a lot of game left in the tank. Though his averages are at an all-time low, he's still been able to explode for a couple of 20+ point games this season for the Pistons. Don't be surprised if the addition of Griffin takes the Nets all the way to the NBA Finals.
