Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie will surely be a sought-after commodity once he becomes a free agent in 2022.

However, instead of choosing where he wants to go, the 27-year-old combo guard has opted to let fans decide on his fate. Dinwiddie shared a GoFundMe page on Friday promoting a fundraiser where fans can specifically choose which team he will sign a one-year contract with.

However, the pot must reach $24,632,630 for his offer to be completed.

“As of now 2625.8 BTC is roughly equivalent to $24,632,630 USD.  If we hit the target then I will allow the fan base to determine my next team decision and sign a one year contract at that destination. If we do not hit the target goal then I will be donating 100% of this campaign to charity. Fan engagement comes in all shapes and sizes, lets have fun folks!” the nets guard wrote.

Spencer Dinwiddie signed a three-year, $34.4 million contract with the Nets last year with a player option in 2021. The 6-foot-5 guard, however, elected to take an unconventional route when he turned that money into an investment vehicle called Dream Fan Shares.

The provision states he must sell 90 SD8 tokens or Professional Athlete Investment Tokens (PAInTs).

Several fans, meanwhile, have begun donating small amounts for his cause. Many are also urging him to sign with his hometown team Los Angeles Lakers.

Dinwiddie was once again having a fine year for the Nets prior to the suspension of the season due to the coronavirus. With superstar Kyrie Irving hobbled by shoulder issues, Dinwiddie stepped to the plate once more and normed 20.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists on 41.5 percent shooting from the field and 30.8 percent from three.
