Stephen A. Smith didn't hold back in his criticisms of Kyrie Irving after the Brooklyn Nets star lashed out at the media in what he called as their attempt to profit by “disrespecting people’s lives for entertainment.”

The veteran broadcaster warned Thursday that he will unload everything he has to say about Irving's comments in his “First Take” appearance on Friday, and he did just that as he called the Nets guard as “one of the most delusional athletes in American history.”

“He's lost. … Kyrie actually looks down on us because we want to see him play, and we're demanding that you play. … He got six months off on top of the 53 games that he missed,” Stephen A. Smith said at the whole Irving situation in defense of the media.

“Here you are, you don't wanna work unless you want to do it when you want to do it. You come back from the whole mandate and even though you had spectacular games, there were other games where you were struggling. And literally he went on the record that he's a little bit tired. Well, what the hell were you doing with all that time off?”

Kyrie Irving's back and forth with the media is no longer new. After all, he once called them “pawns” and even tried to avoid them as much as he can. However, he seemed to be tired of all the talks surrounding him and the Nets after their first round playoffs exit at the hands of the Boston Celtics.

For what it's worth, many were saying that it would probably be in Brooklyn's best interest to part ways with Irving as his commitment with the team just wasn't there. Not to mention that many saw him as a distraction for much of the season.

After Stephen A.'s latest tirade, though, it's unlikely that Irving's relationship with the media will improve and get better. There is an apparent disconnect, and the Twitter war of words isn't helping it.
