The Brooklyn Nets were embarrassed by the Boston Celtics, being swept in their first-round playoff series. During the series, the play of Nets superstar Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving was highlighted. Both All-Star struggled mightily against the Celtics defense, drawing all sorts of criticism. Some of that criticism came from ESPN's Stephen A. Smith.

That prompted Kyrie Irving to clap back at all his haters in the media. He posted on social media a message to all those media types critiquing him Thursday.

“Just Watch all of the people who wake up everyday and report about people’s lives on TV and social media, and then profit off of them. Then they justify their jobs by saying they get paid to say how they feel… Lol Its like these people live in a Fantasy,” Irving tweeted.

That apparently infuriated Smith, who on Thursday afternoon, prompted a warning for Irving.

“Let me look into the audience and say this. Oh, you thought I had stuff to say before. Wait until First Take tomorrow… I'm gonna marinate on what this brother had the audacity to post on social media today… ESPN executives don't have nothing to do with this… the whole crew, they don't have nothing to do with this… If ever the cuffs were coming off on First Take, they are coming off tomorrow.”

After Game 3 of this series, Smith went after Irving hard on NBA Countdown, saying that he would never receive a long-term contract again. He cited the amount of games missed by Irving throughout his career, saying “He is one of the absolute professionals at missing work. I’m not giving him a long-term deal.”

This beef is sure to continue.
