D'Angelo Russell of the Brooklyn Nets pulls out the shammgod en route to a smooth finish over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Peep the clip below posted by the Nets on Twitter. Notice how Russell quickly shifted gears and switched directions to lose his defender.

It's been one hell of a year for the 23-year-old. He's averaging career-highs in points and assists at 20.4 points per game and 6.8 dishes a night. He's also shooting at a decent clip, 43.6 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from downtown. And perhaps the best part of it all, Russell was selected to participate in his first All-Star game – albeit as a replacement for the injured Victor Oladipo of the Indiana Pacers.

From a team perspective, he's one of the key players of the Nets. As of writing, they have a 33-33 record of seventh place in the Eastern Conference. Not many expected them to be in this position. Hell, most of them believed that the Nets were heading to rebuild mode this year.

Yet out of the blue, Russell, along with the likes of Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, DeMarre Carroll, stepped up their game while sophomore Jarrett Allen continued to make strides. Now, the Nets are tagged as an up and coming playoff team. Give the team around two to three years to develop together and unleash their potential as a unit.
