Drew Lock has found a new home. The Missouri quarterback was selected No. 42 overall by the Denver Broncos in the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday night. Throughout the draft process, Lock had been linked heavily to the Broncos with the 10th pick.

Lock never played on great teams with Missouri, but he has been widely regarded as an early pick for the past year. Heading into the 2018 college season, he was widely considered to be the best pro quarterback prospect in college football.

A four-year starter at Mizzou, Lock had his most productive year as a junior. That season he averaged 9.5 yards per attempt while throwing 44 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. This past season, he averaged 8.0 yards per attempt while tossing 28 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Lock's pre-draft process was up and down. He showed well at the Senior Bowl but did check in with small hands at the combine. Lock had a ton of fans in the scouting community, but he wasn't without his detractors. Critics pointed out that Lock tended to have his best games against weak teams, and struggled against top defenses in the SEC.

Against Alabama last year, Lock completed just 13 of 26 passes for 142 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. On the other hand, it could just as easily be argued that Lock's supporting cast at Missouri never gave him a chance against top programs.

Lock has good size at 6-4. He ran a 4.69 40-yard dash at the combine. He has a big arm, but some around the league have been concerned about his accuracy. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein lists Matthew Stafford as a good pro comparison for Lock.
