Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy had been pegged as one of the top prospects at his position heading into the 2020 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, his stock took a hit following some concern regarding his left knee at the NFL Combine.

Jeudy had suffered a knee injury back in spring 2018 and there seems to be plenty of speculation about its lingering status. His doctor has since provided an update on any concerns about the knee, via NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport:

At the Combine, 2 teams expressed concern about the left knee of Bama WR Jerry Jeudy. Dr. Lyle Cain wrote a letter to all 32 teams detailing a previous surgery & saying “Jeudy has not required any treatment” on it and Cain expects him to progress “without limitations.”

The fact that there is still some concern about a knee injury suffered so long ago may come as a surprise. Of course, the onus falls on each team to do their due diligence, especially when it comes to a bonafide first-round prospect.

Regardless, Jeudy has done more than enough to dispel any notion of a lingering injury. He was able to bounce back once the 2018 campaign rolled around by taking home the Fred Biletnikoff Award, which is given to the nation's best collegiate wide receiver. He followed it up by finishing his junior year with 959 yards receiving and nine touchdowns during the regular season en route to first-team All-SEC honors once again.

Perhaps the rumors of concern spread about Jeudy stem from teams that are hoping to have him fall to them late in the first round. It will be interesting if the strategy works.
