Marquise Brown got some good news today. A handful of players made the trek back to Indianapolis today for combine re-checks. Players who were injured get reexamined by doctors so teams can have a final medical report heading into the 2019 NFL Draft.

Brown has been dealing with a foot injury, which is obviously a big deal for a wide receiver. The Oklahoma product “received a very positive review on his foot,” according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. It's huge news for Brown, as the injury had the potential to really hurt his draft stock.

Rapoport also writes that Brown has “been out of a boot for weeks.” Brown's representatives had sent a letter to teams letting them know that the speedy wideout underwent Lisfranc surgery back in January, and that he was expecting to be ready by training camp.

He injured the foot during the Big 12 Championship Game. Lisfranc surgeries can be tricky, so this combine re-check was always going to be a milestone for him. It sounds like he got the news he was hoping for, and should hear his name called early in the draft.

Brown isn't very big at 5-foot-10, but he's blazing fast. He was surely disappointed that he wouldn't be able to run the 40 officially in front of teams before the draft. Most mock drafts have Brown going off the board sometime in the later part of the first round, and some have him slipping into Day 2. Getting a clean bill of health makes that increasingly unlikely.
