University of Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will probably be a top-five pick in this year's NFL Draft, but if Tagovailoa had the choice, he wouldn't play for any of the teams drafting in those spots. If given the opportunity to pick his NFL club, Tagovailoa would select the Dallas Cowboys.

“If you’re saying to me, if I can choose what team I want to play on, as far as my favorite team growing up, then I probably tell you the Cowboys,” Tagovailoa told NFL Network.

The problem for Tagovailoa is that the Cowboys don't pick until 17th overall, so barring some type of trade, he will definitely not be suiting up for Dallas. At least not in 2020, anyway.

Plus, the Cowboys will likely have Dak Prescott under center next season, but Tagovailoa says he would have no problems learning from Prescott.

“I’m not trying to bump him. I’ll learn under him,” Tagovailoa said of Prescott. “I’d handle it the way that the coaches there want to handle it. Honestly, I just want to be able play again. I wouldn’t mind learning under whatever guy that’s the starter. Give me a whole year to rest up and then go back out and compete, but I just want to go back out and play.”

Here's the thing: Prescott is set to be a free agent in March, so there is a chance that he doesn't stay with the Cowboys long-term (some have speculated that Dallas could slap a franchise tag on him). That could potentially open up the door for someone else (like Tagovailoa) to take the reins at signal-caller, but this is obviously wishful thinking on Tagovailoa's part more than anything else.
