There has been some chatter that the Miami Dolphins could potentially trade up to the No. 1 spot to take LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, but the organization has thrown some water on that rumor.

According to Peter King of NBC Sports, Dolphins head coach Brian Flores and general manager Chris Grier “are very much against trading the farm to move up to get Burrow.”

Miami has a wealth of early draft picks, as it owns three first-rounders (including the fifth overall pick) and six selections in the top 70. So, if anyone could convince the Cincinnati Bengals to move the No. 1 pick, it's the Dolphins.

But, it doesn't appear they are interested in doing that at this time.

Of course, Miami is in desperate need of a quarterback, as its primary two signal-callers currently on the roster are 37-year-old Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen.

The Dolphins acquired Rosen at last year's draft with the hope that he could potentially represent their quarterback of the future, but he had a miserable first season in South Beach.

Meanwhile, Burrow is coming off of a 2019 campaign that some consider to be the best collegiate season ever, as he threw for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 76.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 202 en route to leading LSU to a national championship.

However, Miami should have the opportunity to draft another quarterback if it holds at No. 5. Both Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa and Oregon's Justin Herbert may very well be available at that spot.
