The Cincinnati Bengals are all but locked in to select LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Despite trade overtures from the Miami Dolphins, ESPN NFL Insider Dan Graziano reported the Bengals have no intention of trading the top selection during an appearance on “Get Up!”:

“I am told the Dolphins would like to go up and trade for that No. 1 pick and take Joe Burrow…but I’m also told at this point the Bengals have given no indication that they’re willing to move out of that pick and intend to sit there at No. 1 and take Joe Burrow.”

The Dolphins are reportedly enamored with Burrow and have indicated they would be more comfortable selecting him over other quarterback prospects like Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert or Jordan Love.

However, the Bengals are unlikely to give up the top pick unless they receive a massive package in exchange. Burrow grew up in Athens, Ohio, and it does not appears the Bengals would pass on an opportunity to draft the hometown hero.

Burrow put up massive stats for the Tigers last season, completing over 76 percent of his pass attempts for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns and just six interceptions en route to winning the Heisman Trophy and leading LSU to a national title.

The Bengals, meanwhile, are in dire need of a franchise quarterback, and Burrow would come into a fairly friendly situation in Cincinnati.

While the Bengals struggled to move the ball last year, they have talent at the skill positions and locked up A.J. Green via the franchise tag. They will likely place their faith in Burrow as the guy who can help steer them back to the playoffs.
