Former Miami Dolphins running back Mark Walton was arrested on Thursday by the Opa-Locka, Florida, Police Department. Walton, 22, was cited as violating the protective order issued to the mother his child.

According to NBC6 South Florida, police found the former University of Miami rusher in a verbal dispute with the woman at 3:30 a.m. and was later taken into custody and jailed.

Walton was suspended by the NFL in November 2019 for four games for violating the league's personal conduct policy, stemming from multiple arrests in the offseason. The Dolphins then waived Walton on Nov. 19 following another police arrest.

Mark Walton was first arrested in Jan. 2019 for marijuana possession. Later, he was picked up by authorities in mid-February and charged with misdemeanor battery after a physical altercation with a neighbor. Walton was arrested a third time in three months in March 2019 after fleeing from police on foot.

In that instance, the former Arizona Cardinals running back was cited for concealing a firearm along with resisting arrest, reckless driving, and another possession of marijuana charge.

The woman Walton is accused of violating a protective order from earlier alleged Walton of attacking while pregnant with their child. Walton was arrested in November during his suspension and immediately prior to his release from the Dolphins for aggravated battery of a pregnant woman.

Mark Walton was initially selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals following three collegiate seasons at Miami, including a 1,000-plus-yard rushing year with the Hurricanes in 2016.

Walton appeared in 14 games during his rookie season with the Bengals before they released him after his trio of offseason arrests in April 2019. Miami later signed Walton in May before releasing him last November.
