The former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson became the second NFL head coach to claim that he was allegedly bribed to lose football games. That comes after former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores filed a federal class action lawsuit citing racism and improper hiring practices.

Jackson joined ESPN's SportsCenter Wednesday evening to provide clarity on his claims.

Jackson was asked what similarities he sees between his situation and Flores' situation. His response will leave people wondering.

“I wasn't offered $100,000 for every game, but there was a substantial amount of money made within the situation, what happened… every year at the end of it. I didn't, like I said, truly understand why all those numbers as you add it up and you go ‘what is this'… Here I am, 1-31 and kept a third year and given a contract extension that nobody knew. That should tell you something right there. Why would you keep a coach at 1-31 when your track record is to get rid of coaches.”

Jackson was later pressed on what proof he has to support his allegations. He responded saying that he has proof and that the NFL knows he has proof that he was given bonuses for losing.

After his initial claims surfaced this morning, the Browns organization responded denying all claims made against them by Jackson, saying they were ‘categorically false.”

On one hand, it's hard to imagine someone could receive bonuses paid at the end of a season and not have any idea where they are coming from. At the same time, it's equally difficult to understand how Hue Jackson kept his job as long as he did.

This is an ever-evolving situation that is sure to have more twists and turns.
