Jameis Winston is one of the marquee names that remain in free agency, but he isn't going to rush to join a new team this offseason. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Winston is being “methodical” with his free agency decisions.

At the beginning of free agency, there were multiple teams that were looking to find a new starting quarterback. First and foremost, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers decided to replace Winston with Tom Brady.

Then, the Indianapolis Colts signed Philip Rivers, giving them a short-term solution at quarterback. The Carolina Panthers would proceed to ink a deal with Teddy Bridgewater before they released Cam Newton. As for the Chicago Bears, they thought it was best to acquire Nick Foles in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Even though the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins have question marks surrounding their quarterback position, both of them have shown interest in adding one in the 2020 NFL Draft. Therefore, as of this moment, there aren't many teams looking for a starting quarterback.

Winston is coming off of the best season of his career, throwing for 5,109 yards and 33 touchdowns. On the other hand, he also tossed 30 interceptions, causing teams to be concerned with his decision making.

If Winston wants to find a new team this offseason, he may have to accept a backup role in 2020. In that case, the former No. 1 pick will need to consider all of his options before choosing a destination. A team like the Pittsburgh Steelers would make a ton of sense, giving Winston a chance to work behind Ben Roethlisberger for a year.
