The NFL continues to take a day-by-day approach with the coronavirus, and they’ve been met with some obstacles this offseason. In an article for NFL.com, Judy Batista highlighted how the league explores to deal with the uneven coronavirus effects in the United States.

With less than a month until the 2020 NFL Draft, the NFL has chosen to hold the draft as scheduled. However, the league had to make the necessary adjustments to the anticipated event to make sure it prevents worsening the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this week, the NFL sent a memo to teams to continue doing their work from home. Additionally, employees and players were advised to remain away from team facilities.

As of this moment, the coronavirus hasn’t affected offseason programs — including training camps in the summer. But with the unknown timeline of the coronavirus, it is unclear when teams are able to return to their facilities.

Even when teams are given the go-ahead to return, it’s going to be a process that takes place. That is due to cities around the United States having different guidelines pertaining to the coronavirus.

Therefore, Roger Goodell would have to make an edict before teams can report to their facilities. This would be to help make sure there is an even playing field for every team in the NFL.

For example, one team may be able to return sooner than others because of how their city was affected. Until the time comes for the league to make a decision, they are waiting patiently to see how the coronavirus plays out in the coming months.
