With the NFL being affected by the coronavirus, NFL Network has also been altered by the pandemic. While the NFL went on as scheduled with free agency, Andrew Siciliano spoke on the nationwide reaction to NFL Network's free agency coverage. From Nate Davis of USA Today:

“‘We weren't saving the world, but I got texts from GMs and from agents and from family and from friends all saying, ‘Thank you for being on, we need to watch something different',' said Siciliano via USA Today, who said finding the right tone during broadcasts focused on multi-million dollar contracts was a challenge and freely acknowledged his mind would drift while he was on air as the latest COVID-19 news hit his laptop.”

Similar to some workers, the employees at NFL Network were sent home as a response to the coronavirus. Still, Siciliano and others continued to produce coverage of free agents and where they chose to sign.

Ever since the coronavirus outbreak began, there has been an extremely limited supply of sports to watch. Therefore, if you're someone who watches cable television, then it's likely you're watching something that pertains to the coronavirus.

If not, then it's probable that you could be re-watching a game that happened in past seasons. Even though it can be nice to watch some classic games, a somewhat normal coverage of free agency was comforting to see.

To get fans' minds off of the pandemic, NFL Network was able to give some coverage on free agency. As Siciliano highlighted, he and the other NFL Network members weren't directly saving lives. However, Siciliano and the other workers were able to provide some entertainment in a time of need.
